You role is to help deliver the Council’s Affordable Housing plans for Northumberland, by ensuring sufficient and appropriate sites are identified and developed, as managed within the Affordable Housing programme. You will proactively and effectively engage with housing providers, developers, funders and land owners to continuously identify and recommend sites for Community Housing development, identify new and innovative ideas to maximise the efficiency and quality of existing housing, empty properties and new and existing developments, supporting the effective delivery of the pre-planning application process. You will be accountable for expenditure against allocated budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and prepare reports recommending sites for Community Housing development and present where required at the relevant groups/committees.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent standard of education with an in-depth knowledge of community housing development processes, including funding and planning, knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation & regulations, evidence of successfully enabling/delivering community-led housing developments within a registered provider along with project management experience that demonstrates effectively setting and managing deadlines and targets.

This post is office based but there will be regular external visits to development sites and partner organisations therefore you must be able to meet the transport requirements.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months.
