We have an exciting vacancy working within the Health Housing and Communities Directorate reporting directly to the Executive Director for Public Health.

This vacancy is within Sunderland City Council, but you will be joint working within the Sunderland Place of NENC ICB to take on the public health lead for a variety of programmes, focusing on healthcare public health. Working agilely, however, you would work across Sunderland and, in some cases, the Local Health Economy footprint, ICS footprint or the North East of England.

This role opens up the opportunity to develop our new approach to population health management and promote integration within the City of Sunderland along with providing public health leadership to our Ageing Well Delivery Board with responsibilities for developing and delivering key areas of out Healthy City Plan, as well as working closely with the University of Sunderland to develop our research capacity.

You would be providing vision and leadership for staff within the Public Health Team and provide direct line management of 5 staff initially.
