The life changing University of Sunderland has 20,000 students based in campuses on the North East coast, in London and Hong Kong and at its global partnerships with learning institutions in 15 countries. We are proud of our long-established commitment to widening participation, our world-leading research, public and private sector collaborations and our track-record for providing quality student experiences that result in graduates who are the tomorrow-makers of our societies and economies.

Continuous Improvement, Change and Compliance (CICC) was created as part of a University review. This small service has been allocated a challenging and yet exciting agenda which is responsible for a wide assurance, compliance and efficiency agenda. Over the next period the service will play a pivotal role in the successfulness of the wider University with delivery of Continuous Improvement a key priority area.

To support in the delivery of this agenda we are looking for a candidate with experience and the ability to deliver challenging yet meaningful activity in the area of Continuous Improvement. Supported by a small team, the post holder will be responsible for developing, oversight and managing the successful delivery of the University’s Continuous Improvement plans. The CI Manager will also build excellent relationships across the University to enable the delivery of Continuous Improvement. The CI Manager is a key role in the CICC senior management team and will work closely with colleagues to support the Director in the delivery of the service’s objectives.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of leading CI activities in a large complex organisation, working with stakeholders to deliver added value and efficiency to the business. Experience or awareness of the Higher Education sector would be advantageous but applications from candidates with other backgrounds are welcome. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a drive to deliver and the ability to deal with many, often conflicting, demands.

Interviews will be held on 2nd May 2018.
