Further Information
Redcar and Cleveland Educational Psychology team are seeking to appoint 1.6 fte permanent Educational Psychologists.
Who are we?
Our aim in Redcar and Cleveland is to help children thrive. We are a small Educational Psychology team aiming to grow. The successful candidate will join a team of 2.7 Educational Psychologists, and 2 assistant psychologists. The successful candidate will focus on early intervention work with schools, alongside the Specialist Teaching Service, with opportunities for the development of project work alongside some statutory work. Current projects across the Directorate that you might contribute to include school readiness and transition, attendance, and meeting the needs of children at risk of permanent exclusion.
In our Local Authority, the different services across education and children’s social care work closely together. There is a strong focus on relational approaches to working with children and their families which extends across all teams. The EPS is well placed to shape policy and practice across our Directorate. Our relationships with schools are good. Our local authority is a research organisation, with support from the South Tees Health Determinants Research Collaboration; and there are opportunities to develop your own research with support. We are particularly keen to build on research from 2024 on parental experiences of consultation using the Adults First model (Exploring Adults First, an educational psychology intervention, supporting children and their parents: “Your voice was as important as the teacher sat next to you” - SURE (sunderland.ac.uk))
.
