The Employability Team are looking for a Programme Manager to join the team and help deliver our commitment to supporting customers into work. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing the delivery of our Green Start project. Green Start will offer customers the opportunity to embark on ‘career starter roles’ within the green and low carbon sector. The placement programme will support employers but also provide a fantastic opportunity for customers to gain skills and experience within this growing and exciting employment sector.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a contract management, enjoys working in partnership and is passionate and enthusiastic about supporting people into work. You would need an understanding of the barriers that unemployed customers face, and be proactive, creative and committed to developing and delivering a project that helps maximise the benefits for customers.

You will need to be highly organised, excellent at building relationships with external organisations, and have a strong understanding of project management and compliance.  

Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading on the delivery of the programme and project managing the partnership.
  • Creating referral pathways that ensure the programme is accessible and representative of the wider communities.
  • Ensuring the customer journey through the programme is structured and outcome focussed.
  • Developing and managing a positive relationship with employers who are hosting Green Start placements.
  • Budget management including managing the payments to employers.
  • Working with the Senior Manager Employability to produce reports, complete project claims and make sure that the programme meets all the funder’s compliance requirements.
  • Conducting regular reviews, making sure that the programme is meeting the needs of the customers, partners and funders.
  • Celebrating and championing the project at a local and regional level.
