Further Information
We are looking for an organised, creative and collaborative Engagement Lead to help colleagues feel connected, involved and able to contribute as the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority continues to grow and evolve.

Sitting within the People and Culture team, this role will lead the coordination and delivery of colleague engagement, employee voice, belonging, inclusion and culture activity across the organisation.

You will coordinate and deliver engagement campaigns, listening activity, culture initiatives, colleague recognition, volunteering activity, leadership engagement and learning activity that bring our values to life and strengthen colleague experience. Working closely with colleagues across People and Culture, Communications, Transformation, Inclusion and service teams, you will support practical engagement activity, develop accessible resources and help colleagues understand how their work contributes to our wider regional ambitions.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong planning, facilitation, engagement and organisational skills who enjoys working across teams, turning feedback into visible action, and supporting positive culture and inclusion activity. You will be confident managing multiple priorities, building positive relationships, using engagement insight and participation data, and helping colleagues feel informed, respected and connected through organisational change.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the coordination and delivery of engagement activity including colleague voice sessions, pulse surveys, listening activity, culture campaigns, recognition initiatives, directorate away days, all-colleague sessions, huddles and other opportunities for colleagues to connect and contribute.
  • Bring organisational values and culture to life through colleague resources, peer-to-peer recognition, celebration activity, volunteering opportunities and practical activities that foster connection across teams.
  • Coordinate colleague listening, engagement surveys, pulse checks and feedback mechanisms, collating insight, participation data and themes to support reporting, action planning and visible “you said, we did” updates.
  • Support leaders and managers to translate colleague feedback into practical local and organisation-wide action, helping to strengthen performance, ownership and delivery.
  • Provide engagement support for organisational change, including workplace moves, new ways of working, system enhancement and transformation activity, by developing practical plans, colleague resources, manager briefings, FAQs and feedback routes.
  • Support belonging, inclusion and EDI activity through campaigns, colleague networks, listening groups, events, communications and resources, helping colleagues feel seen, respected and able to contribute.
  • Use engagement platforms, survey tools and colleague resources to support effective listening, participation, feedback, action tracking and continuous improvement.
  • Build effective relationships across People and Culture, Communications, Transformation, Inclusion, senior leaders, managers and service teams to coordinate activity, maintain delivery plans and provide regular updates on progress, risks, themes, participation, feedback and impact.
We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We support flexible working and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

If you are organised, collaborative, detail-oriented and motivated by creating positive colleague experiences through engagement, culture, inclusion and employee voice, we would love to hear from you.
