You will be based in Civic Centre, Northallerton and there you will benefit from car free parking.
You will be working within a team of officers that undertake a wide range of duties including the investigation and control of noise, pollution and statutory nuisances, inspection of permitted processes and contaminated land and private sector housing enforcement as well as consultations in relation to licensed premises and planning applications and enforcement of standards at caravan sites.

The successful candidate will be a confident self-motivated professional with excellent enforcement and negotiation skills. You will have good communication and organisational skills as you will be dealing with a mixed audience of residents, landlords, partner agencies and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to work independently while supporting the team members to achieve the broader outcomes of the team.
The successful candidate must have a full Driving License, be able to work out of hours from time to time and will be given the opportunity to undertake ongoing training and development.

Applications are invited from candidates who are qualified Environmental Health Officers with experience of dealing with statutory nuisance and housing standards enforcement and be competent to undertake inspections using the HHSRS.
