The North East Local Enterprise Partnership works to make the North East a place where more businesses invest, grow and prosper, delivering more and better jobs for everyone.

We are responsible for delivering the North East Strategic Economic Plan, to influence and shape the continued economic growth of the area.

Covering the local authority areas of Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland, we are governed by a business led with its board including representatives from private businesses, higher and further education and the leaders and elected mayor of the seven local authority areas.

You can find out more about our work at www.northeastlep.co.uk or follow @northeastlep

The North East Combined Authority provides a robust and accountable structure for the area and provides the accountable body arrangements for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership.

The 2014-2020 European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) is contributing more than £437m into the North East. The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (North East LEP) and local authority partners are working together to ensure funds deliver both the European goals of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and support our North East Strategic Economic Plan (SEP).

The European Social Fund (ESF) is a substantial source of local investment to achieve inclusive local growth and realise the skills, employability and inclusion ambitions of the SEP and therefore it is important that the North East maximises the opportunities for further calls for projects and programmes utilising unallocated funds.

The North East LEP and seven constituent local authorities have jointly committed resource to fund this post, managed by North East LEP, from September 2018. The shared local resource will support ESF co-ordination role to fully maximise investment and ensure it delivers effectively for the north east, and to gather programme intelligence to identify priorities for local spend from government successor funding, primarily the Shared Prosperity Fund

For an informal conversation please contact Michelle Rainbow, Skills Director on 0191 338 7439.

Interviews are to be held week commencing 10th September 2018.
