Further Information
This is Redcar and Cleveland. We are an ambitious council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce which always gives its best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

The borough is an area of great contrasts with world class industries, market towns, visitor destinations, beautiful coastline and stunning countryside. The Council continues to invest in the area to create opportunities for investment and growth. Key to this work is the Economic Growth directorate which leads on our efforts to build upon successful investment and develop an exciting growth programme that will bring long-term improvements to the local economy, create jobs and build vibrant communities.

We are seeking candidates for this exciting new role, created to drive forward our longer-term investment in culture and tourism. You will be a visionary leader who will challenge, rather than manage the status quo. You should have a growing reputation within the cultural field and broad experience in arts and audience development, and community engagement, together with knowledge of tourism and the interface between these areas of work. You will also have the ability to work creatively with a range of partners, the personality to bring people with you and a deep desire to help us achieve our ambitions. We are particularly keen to hear from you if you have experience within a commercial environment.

If you have the passion, approach and personality to help us achieve our ambition, we would love to hear from you.

The council is an accredited Investors in People employer at gold level and holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.
