Newcastle City Council is seeking to appoint a Housing Partnership Officer to assist and support the Fairer Housing Unit in managing a range of key strategic housing partnerships in the City. The post in the Housing Policy and Commissioning team, which is responsible setting a wide cross tenure housing policies and strategies as well as managing the strategic relationships with housing services in the city, is a permanent post.

The Council is committed to working in partnership with our ALMO – Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) to make sure the 25 000 council homes across the city are fit for purpose now and in the future and to ensure that the Council’s tenants are satisfied with all investment programmes and housing services. We are also committed to making sure that our partnerships with Registered Providers and our commissioned services in the city are delivering to outcomes and priorities that fit with our values as well as national service standards. To deliver on these priorities the Fairer Housing Unit is seeking an Officer who can manage relationships, coordinate networks and work alongside partners who deliver services as well as monitoring, managing and reporting on outcomes.

The post holder will also support the wider work of the Fairer Housing Unit and the delivery of its front-line services including maintaining and monitoring of business processes and project management. Previous experience of project management would be an advantage.

The role is challenging and varied and the post holder will need to be flexible and be able to prioritise a workload with conflicting deadlines.
