The post on offer is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the Council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

The Council is changing the way we deliver our IT Service and are reshaping the way the service impacts not only on the delivery of the Council’s business but also how it can help to radically improve the economy by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all our IT-supported business processes. As such we are looking to recruit a creative and enthusiastic individual who will be instrumental in leading and delivering the service.

You will help to deliver work required by the Systems & Software Team within the IT Service as defined in the IT workplan. You will be instrumental in leading the implementation, delivery, support & development of the Council’s extensive portfolio of line of business applications that the IT Service provides.

A key responsibility of this role is aligned specifically to the support, maintenance and development of the Council’s Corporate Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) System which is the Business World Solution provided by Unit4.

The ERP system provides and supports key Corporate Services across Accountancy Services, Human Resource, Payroll, Procure to Pay (P2P), Sales to Cash (S2C) and therefore experience in the implementation, support and development of Business World ERP system or similar ERP systems would be highly advantageous.

The Council has an extensive service and development plan for the ERP system covering legislative and service improvement outcomes therefore this position will provide variety of work with great potential to develop, apply and strengthen your existing skills, knowledge and experience by way of real practical application.

Opportunities to gain a broad range of experience in many aspect of system support and development such as but not limited to coding/scripting database management, software change, release and deployment, Microsoft applications and infrastructure.
