ROLE OF THE JOB

You will lead in the specialist area of council tenant arrears recovery and enforcement using the escalation process to ensure the service is accessible and responsive, supporting current NCC customers to maximise income and reduce debt. 

The successful candidate will carry out day to day monitoring of tenant arrears and provide advice and guidance in recovery processes including the receipt of payments using appropriate technology, arranging repayment plans and working collaboratively with other services to prevent eviction and sustain tenancies.  

We are looking for people who have a passion for income collection and who like to work in partnership with other services and external professional agencies. Experience of welfare benefits in particular universal credit would be beneficial as well as budgeting and providing advice and support. 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

  • Good standard of education to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Extensive enforcement experience in a rent or revenues environment
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Customer focused and have experience of delivering excellent customer service with strong communication skills, good negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets.
  • A can-do attitude and be an excellent problem solver whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of the recovery process. 
  • Have good Microsoft office knowledge.
