Would you be interested in joining an established team in the Central Area of the City which provides intensive support to families with complex needs? The team is part of the Community Family Hub and works closely with a number of partners in the area.

We are recruiting to a part time post – 29.6 hours per week (four days) and are keen to recruit an enthusiastic individual who is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people growing up in challenging circumstances. You will need to have relevant experience of working directly with families and preferably have a relevant or professional qualification for the work. You will manage a small caseload and deliver intensive, supportive interventions within the family home. You will be required to work flexibly to suit the needs of families, providing practical support as well as therapeutic strength based interventions. You will have a commitment to working collaboratively with partners within the Early Help Framework including being a Lead Practitioner.

If you would like to find out more about these posts, please contact Ian Pike, Intensive Family Support Lead (Central) for a discussion, on 0191 2777800 or ian.pike@newcastle.gov.uk.

All candidates should complete an application form addressing each of the elements of the Person Specification and Job Description.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
