The North East Combined Authority is driving an ambitious agenda to grow our regional economy, attract new investment, and create more opportunities for our people and communities. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Inward Investment Manager to join our Inward Investment team and play a key role in promoting the North East as a world-class location to do business.

About the role

You’ll lead on attracting new businesses and investors to the region, working with local authorities, the private sector, and national partners such as the Office for Investment. You’ll identify and develop opportunities across key growth sectors from clean energy and advanced manufacturing to digital and life sciences helping to secure new jobs, capital investment and long-term prosperity for the region.

Your work will include:
 
  • Building and maintaining relationships with investors, developers and key business networks.
  • Managing investment enquiries and turning leads into live projects.
  • Showcasing the region’s assets through marketing, events, and targeted campaigns.
  • Collaborating with partners to shape strategic investment propositions and ensure the North East is at the forefront of UK and international opportunities.

About you

You’ll be a confident communicator and relationship builder with a strong understanding of inward investment or business development. You’ll bring energy, creativity and commercial acumen, able to spot opportunities, influence stakeholders, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in economic development, trade and investment, or regional promotion will be an advantage.
