You would be expected to do the following:

• Teach all areas of the curriculum;
• Take responsibility for the progress of the pupils;
• Organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment;
• Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class;
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation;
• Maintain discipline;
• Prepare and mark work to facilitate positive pupil development;
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development;
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress at parents/carers meetings;
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and support colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area;
• Work with others to plan and coordinate work;
• Keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum;
• Organise and take part in school events, outings and activities;
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly;
• Meet with other professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required;
• Ensure pupils are on task and engaged in class discussions and activities;
• Ability to meet any potential challenges head on, using your skills, experience, and tact to move forward.

It would be preferable if you had the following, however we are interested in speaking to anyone who believes they can fulfil this challenging role: on-going training will be provided:
