We are looking for a motivated Lead HR/OD Advisor able to demonstrate significant experience of successfully managing a varied and demanding caseload spanning both Organisational Development and Human Resources activity.

Reporting to the Human Resources and Governance Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the provision and development of the operational and transactional HR/OD Service including allocated project work and initiatives that actively support the delivery company’s Corporate Plan.

With direct line management of the OD Officers it is expected that you will have a strong organisational development background with a demonstrable track record in organisational design, employee engagement, workforce planning, training and development, cultural change programmes and design and delivery of bespoke development programmes i.e. management development.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the day to day HR/OD operational and transactional activity of the service(s) i.e. onboarding, payroll, induction, appraisal process, internal transfers and secondments, recruitment, exit interviews etc.

As well as direct supervision of the OD Officers you will have indirect supervision of the transactional activity of the HR Officers, ensuring work is delivered seamlessly, accurately, meets agreed deadlines and is in line with audit requirements.

You will utilise your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to support and drive employee engagement, promoting company values, positive culture and manage change effectively, ensuring that we retain motivated teams of employees who can deliver an excellent service to our customers. Whatever you will focus on, it will all be aimed at delivering the highest quality service to both our internal and external customers.

The ability to manage changing priorities and flexibility is imperative as you will be required to switch between HR and OD activity and be comfortable managing your own ER caseload as directed by the HR and Governance Manager.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Debbie Worrall, HR and Governance Manager at debbieworrall@gatesheadhousing.co.uk or call 0191 433 5446

You should consider the job profile when applying, giving examples of how you meet the criteria.
