When it comes to inspiring and engaging a new generation, we are looking to appoint an inspiring Lecturer. You could be taking control of planning and delivering training that will lay strong foundations for student learning. You may not already be a Lecturer but what we are more interested in is an in-depth understanding of key areas of Engineering within the following discipline: Mechanical

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative individual to join our team, teaching engineering at Sunderland College’s City Campus. The successful candidate will be a well-motivated, qualified engineer, ready to teach across a range of programmes at levels 1 to 3. You must have already gained your Assessor or Verifier awards as we are looking for someone with experience of teaching lathes, milling, CNC and hand skills, with experience of delivering on apprentice and full time learner programs.

You should be educated to at least HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline. Preferably you will already have a teaching certificate. If not, and you have the potential to teach, you will be committed to achieving a teaching qualification within an appropriate timescale upon joining the college. Recent experience within the Engineering sector will also be an advantage.

The appointment offers a number of opportunities to play a key role in driving forward the quality of our Engineering department and expanding the higher education provision as well as the offer to develop programs for local and international employers, working alongside a highly successful team and in partnership with The University of Sunderland.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their personal statement, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.
