This exciting post will work in the Community Support Team within Middlesbrough Council to facilitate the smooth transition of new refugees from government-supported accommodation into mainstream society during their 28-day ‘move on’ period and help facilitate the return of failed asylum seekers.

The successful applicant will have:

• The ability to engage service users in planning, delivery and evaluations or provision.
• Comprehensive experience of working directly with vulnerable adults.
• Experience of partnership working and working within multi agency settings.
• Knowledge of the resources available to provide information, advice and guidance to adults.
• Knowledge of safeguarding guidance and procedures for adults.
• The ability to work to a set of objectives and timescales to achieve outcomes
• The ability to work independently
• Effective communications skills both written and oral, in order to interact with children and adults, colleagues, managers and partner agencies and to positively represent the council in a range of internal and external forums. Be committed to partnership working

Our team offers regular supervision and appraisal, shared knowledge, support and resources from co-location with the range of responsibilities within the Community Support Team. The post will offer good opportunities and strong team identity.
