The Museums Head of Transformation is a change-making role, and a newly created post within Middlesbrough Council cultural services. The post holder will have the responsibility for strategically leading the Dorman and Captain Cook Museums with a compelling vision.
The post will have a critical role in being part of a team delivering a major shift in the council’s direction in culture and drive change within the museum. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who is knowledgeable and visionary, pushing boundaries about what hyperlocal museums can be in Middlesbrough. We are looking for someone who is engaged in thinking about the future of museums and is able to be bold and brave, leading the venues to be at forefront of museum practice. This role requires a candidate who has worked at a senior level within the museums sector.

This post is part of the management team for Cultural Services, led by the Director of Culture and Communities. The post will report directly to the Head of Culture. Middlesbrough Council Cultural services are working towards a citizen-centred vision for culture, this is a key senior role within the team.
