POST REF: NURTURE GROUP TEACHER – M4 to UPS3 (full time, Permanent) REQUIRED FROM APRIL 2018 CLOSING DATE: Noon on Monday 5th February 2018

The Governors of Usworth Colliery Primary School wish to appoint an experienced teacher who will lead a nurture group provision for children with challenging behaviour. We are looking to set up a nurture classroom where a small group of children will have access to quality, specialist small group learning. A range of children from across KS1 and KS2 will have access to the full-time provision. They will access it according to their needs and have daily opportunities to work alongside peers where appropriate. This successful candidate will be instrumental in setting up this provision and support will be provided both internally and externally in order to ensure its success.
Part of the role will also be to support teachers who have children with challenging behaviour in their class. This may include support for the child in mainstream, support with planning/resources and team teaching with class teachers. There will be a member of support staff attached to the provision.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and dynamic teacher who is:

-Passionate about leading a nurture group to support children across the school to access learning.
-Able to empathise with children with complex needs.
-Able to demonstrate their enthusiasm for creating a curriculum for children with emotional dysregulation.
-Experienced at effectively managing challenging behaviours within the classroom.
-Prepared to “go the extra mile” in building our growing inclusive school.
