The Community Occupational Therapy Service in Sunderland is seeking to recruit a qualified Occupational Therapist to work with adults and children.

The post involves assessment of the person, their family/carers and environment, leading to the provision of advice, guidance, appropriate equipment or structural alterations to property in order to facilitate safe and independent community living.

The post is based within Sunderland’s Independent Living Centre, with opportunities for agile, flexible and home working.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of their caseload under the supervision of their manager. Candidates should have well developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to create excellent therapeutic relationships and work creatively with their customers.

The service upholds a commitment to continuous professional development for all its team members.


This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
