This is a three-year contract; extension is subject to continued funding.
Job Purpose
The Parent Connector will collaborate closely with parents and early years professionals. We want to make it easier for parents to find the right support for them and their children, and to feel comfortable in reaching out for help.
This is important because parents tell us they find themselves alone at home, with their babies and toddlers, and they want more places to go to be with other parents and to get professional help. Some say they feel isolated and struggle with their mental health. Some say they would like more information about what support is available and more opportunities to learn about their children’s development. Many parents fear being judged.
Our parent connectors will work directly with local families, in the heart of our communities. They will connect parents to professional help and to the information and assistance they need. They will also provide opportunities and support for early life professionals and services to connect with each other so that the services parents receive are joined up and the best they can be.
This post is an exciting opportunity to work differently through collaboration and coordination, connecting parents with various parts of the early years’ service landscape. This is a job that will enable you to develop your knowledge and skills and grow into this new role.
