A primary school in North Tyneside is working with First Class Supply to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child 1:1 in school 8am – 12pm every day. The position will commence in September 2018. You will provide support in a Key Stage 1 class, where you will be required to work with a Key Stage 1 pupil. You must have SEN experience within mainstream education and have experience of helping children access the curriculum.
This is a large two form entry school which has been awarded “Outstanding” status by Ofsted. Achievement and progress improved rapidly following the introduction of new leadership, with high expectations of the pupils ensuring that attainment is above average. Teaching and behaviour are excellent, contributing to a highly effective school.
Successful applicants will:
- have experience of working with small groups of children on planned activities and providing feedback on progress to teachers
- be experienced at working with pre-school children
- be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
- have the ability to motivate and engage children
- be able to work independently using your initiative
- have a minimum of 6 months recent experience within a UK setting
- hold a full and relevant level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant child care discipline.
