Further Information
Do you want to contribute to the lives of local people, supporting communities in the North of Tyne to fulfil their true potential.

Could you play an important role in supporting the delivery of an ambitious and diverse
range of skills activity?

The North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) is a ground-breaking organisation, allowing
the transfer of new powers and money from the Government to our area. We are making an
ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, with a clear priority to help the
communities we serve to fulfil their true potential. More information here.

Devolution has given us the chance to make decisions about our future, so we are targeting
investment where we know we need it most, ensuring economic growth is supported by
people with the right skills, education and confidence to benefit from every opportunity.

At NTCA, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. NTCA is proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

If you’re looking for a flexible approach to work, we will be operating on a hybrid model, so we would be open to discussing this with you. However, if you are looking to relocate here, then that’s great too. By coming to work in the North of Tyne, you can enjoy a fulfilling job as well as a great quality of life, with some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and beaches on your doorstep. Our flexible approach allows employees to have a great work-life-balance, with your wellbeing at its heart.

We believe in rewarding people for their productivity, so everyone at NTCA gets automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme, a range of salary sacrifice options, a more open leave policy (in addition to your entitled leave of 25 or 30 days plus bank holidays) and a range of support for your wellbeing and work-life balance.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Skills team to lead on the development and implementation of innovative and effective policy advice and data analysis in relation to Adult Education, Skills and Employability to the North of Tyne.

As an ideal applicant you’ll have excellent experience of planning, developing and delivering skills programmes, able to call on examples where you have engaged with colleagues, partners and stakeholders alike, and ensured varied projects are delivered to a high standard within set timescales. You must be able to collect and utilise diverse and complex skills data to inform, develop and implement skills policy for the North of Tyne area.

If you would like to be part of a team that is critical to the future of the region and you can help us deliver our ambitious vision, then we really want to hear from you.
