THE ROLE

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will contribute to transforming the working culture in Durham Children’s Social Care and promote anti racist and inclusive practice within children’s services to inspire change for the children and families we support.

This is an exciting and innovative non-case holding role for the right candidate to challenge and influence based within the safeguarding and professional practice team, alongside our social work academy and leadership academy and working alongside a supportive extended management team.

You will be part trainer / part coach / part mentor with an understanding of statutory social care to drive practice and hold brave challenging conversations.

This will include developing and delivering programmes of learning and development within Durham, providing advice and guidance to case-holding practitioners, influencing our embedded strengths based relational and trauma informed practice framework, developing staff networks to offer supportive peer spaces, influencing policy makers and exploring income generating opportunities regionally and within the teaching partnership to influence practice in the North East and beyond.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will be a confident facilitator, have a keen interest in social justice, practice education and anti-oppressive practice.

A background in Social Work is preferred, but not essential.
