Based in Democratic Services you will be a key member of the Project Team that is implementing a new Electronic Document and Records Management System, known as iPortal.

As part of that project you will provide advice and guidance on Records Management best practice, both to the Project Team and to the wider Council; ensuring the system is implemented effectively across the organisation. Your emphasis will be on promoting practical application of best practice standards, helping staff with limited knowledge of Records Management principles to easily adopt new practices and ensure the proper management of the Council’s records.

A significant part of your role will be to liaise with service area representatives to develop corporate file plans and to ensure compliance with agreed Council procedures. You will also be responsible for system administration and Helpdesk functions with assistance from the Data and Systems Support Officer and Information Governance Assistants.

In addition to the above you will be an approachable Member of the team capable of providing confident and consistent Records Management advice to Officers at a variety of levels. You will be a fast learner, able to adapt to a busy and changing work environment and will also play a support role to junior members of the team.

For an informal discussion about this post please contact Catherine Hanley, Acting Information Governance Manager 01642 769686 or Sylvia Reynolds, Members’ and Statutory Services Manager 01642 729697.

Closing date: Monday 10th August 2015 by 12 noon.
