We require a HGV Driver to be based the North of County Durham, however you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.
This will be a 52 wks post.

This is a permanent post. The post is evaluated at Grade 6 for which the salary is £20,541 (£10.64 per hour) to £23,111 (£11.97 per hour). From April 2019 £21,166 (£10.97 per hour) - £23,836 (£12.35 per hour)

Working as part of a team of collection crews you will be responsible for driving a refuse collection vehicle as well as acting as Chargehand supervising the refuse collection crew working with your vehicle ensuring that the allocated collection work is completed each day. You will also be responsible for ensuring the crew follow health and safety guidelines and DCC operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:
HGV Category C Licence
Relevant training in an associated discipline

Due to the requirement to drive a County council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of the vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in house Driver Induction Assessment. A pre-employment health check will also be required.
