First Class Supply are working with a special school in Sunderland who are currently looking to appoint teaching assistant’s to work with pupils throughout Key Stage 3 and 4. There are both part time and full time roles available to suit your lifestyle.

You will provide support for children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties, social, emotional and mental health difficulties and must demonstrate a commitment to providing a high quality service, to enable children and young people to develop skills and reach their potential educationally and socially.

You must have a positive “can do” attitude and commitment to enabling children and young people to participate fully in all aspects of mainstream school life. Experience in working with pupils with speech and language difficulties is essential.

To apply for this role you must:
  • be able to work independently on either a 1-1 or small group basis
  • be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
  • be flexible to work at short notice as and when the need arises
  • have recent experience in a Teaching Assistant role, within a special needs environment
  • hold a relevant child care or education qualification at Level 3 or above
  • hold a valid Team Teach certificate.
