Band 7 – Starting point 30 – Maximum point 34

Actual starting salary £24104 per annum

Hareside Primary School is a fantastic school situated in Cramlington Northumberland just north of Newcastle–Upon-Tyne. We have recently been judged "Good" with an “Outstanding” Early Years provision by Ofsted. We are a mainstream school catering for pupils from Nursery to Year 6. We have a 3+ Nursery unit on site, and also offer before and after school care within a separate building on site. The school are looking for a highly competent and motivated School Business Manager, preferably qualified to CSBM or DSBM level, supporting and leading on the financial management and development of the school.

In order to deliver the diverse range of responsibilities, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to operate in a busy environment as well as line-management experience of administration and other staff. The position will start December 2018 or January 2018 (depending upon notice required).

The role will include:-
• Working closely with the Headteacher & Governors as a senior leader.
• Financial management and development of financial systems
• Leading the administrative and premises teams
• Premises management including overseeing of regular statutory and non-statutory activities
• Overseeing new building projects or development projects
• Human resources, payroll, personnel and staff recruitment
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
• IT systems selection and implementation
• Policy and procedure regular reviews and implementation
• Funding applications
• Website management
• Strong knowledge of GDPR regulations

We are looking for a candidate who is able to use SIM’s and is very familiar with financial management systems. You should be experienced in managing large and complex budgeting and commitment monitoring. You should have experience of leading a team with excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion is paramount. The ability to use your own initiative to help drive school improvement is also important, as is the ability to multi-task and prioritise, organise and manage your own and your teams workload. You should have the ability to think strategically, creatively, and problem solve whilst working within a fast paced environment.

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for the successful candidate. The post is subject to satisfactory references, health check, and a 3 month probation period.
