This post can be considered as a secondment opportunity, candidates who wish to apply via secondment must first seek written approval from their line manager.

Applications are invited from experienced and committed individuals for an exciting new post working in the Community Safety Team within Middlesbrough Council and provide a central role in helping to deliver the Selective Landlord Licensing Schemes in designated areas of Middlesbrough.

The successful applicant will:

• Be familiar with the principles of the Selective Landlord Licensing Scheme and the private rented sector, particularly the wider challenges affecting local communities where there is a high prevalence of social and economic issues
• Be familiar with other local approaches that can be integrated into service delivery for the benefit of local residents
• Ensure good relationships with all stakeholders are developed and maintained
• Identify programme efficiencies and contribute to continual improvement of the scheme
• Be able to work in a busy environment and to tight time scales
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be committed to partnership and interagency working
• Attend and input to relevant multi-agency groups associated with the scheme including residents meetings
• Coordinate the development, implementation and progression of the tenancy referencing scheme
• Assist in developing publicity around the tenancy referencing scheme and provide advice and information to landlords, managing or letting agents and tenants
• Complete visits/inspections of properties and visits to the area, in relation to licence conditions and subsequent issues with the condition or management of the property

Our team offers regular supervision and appraisal, shared knowledge, support and resources from co-location with the range of responsibilities within the Community Safety Partnership. The post will offer good training opportunities and strong team identity.
