Adult Social Care in Gateshead is committed to partnership working with an emphasis on recovery, choice and control and maximising independence.
Gateshead Adult Care are currently looking to appoint an experienced dynamic Senior Practitioner to work in the Mental Health Team.
You will have significant post qualifying experience working with people with complex mental health needs, and provide a professional person centred social work service.
You will have the ability to support the team in the absence of the Team Manager, supervise and mentor staff to ensure the delivery of quality services. The candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience of inter-agency collaborative practice and multi-agency working, as well as an understanding of safeguarding and risk management frameworks.
You will be joining a team of both experienced and newly qualified practitioners. We are working in partnership with Think Ahead, those participants are supported by a Consultant Social Worker.
We have a dedicated AMHP Team who are supported by an AMHP lead.
You must hold a professional Social Work qualification MA, BA in Social work, Dip SW CQSW or CSS and be registered with the HCPC.
As an experienced practitioner you will be willing undertake the Practice Educator Post Qualification. Approved Mental Health Professionals are required to continue to attend Legal Update days, this post will support reduced AMHP duty rota responsibilities.
You will have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and competing demands.
You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of all relevant legislation for adult care.
You will have up to date knowledge of social care policy and developments, best practice and current trends in social care.
You will have excellent IT skills.
You must have a current Driving Licence or means to mobility support.
