Required for 8 January 2018, Fixed Term Post for 1 Year Initially

The Governing Body of Monkton Junior School are looking to recruit an ambitious and talented Site Supervisor who has a commitment to excellence and who will provide our school community with the highest standards of service, be responsible for the site, Health and Safety and maintenance of our school.

The successful applicant will:

• be diligent and self-motivated in taking responsibility for all matters relating to school site oversight, maintenance and allocated cleaning duties;
• demonstrate a good understanding of all Health and Safety requirements and keep up to date with changes to legislation;
• be responsible for the security of the school site;
• oversee the management of school cleaning staff;
• monitor and scrutinize carefully all work undertaken by a range of contractors;
• work effectively in a collaborative staff team;
• exhibit good communication skills, alongside a good sense of humour and a calm and caring nature;
• work in accordance with school safeguarding procedures.

This position would suit a well-qualified professional with a can-do attitude looking for the chance to establish their position within the school. It will offer a wealth of challenges ranging from day-to-day reactional maintenance work to taking a proactive approach to planned developments across the school site. Holidays will be required to be taken during allocated school holidays

We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks and completion of a disqualification by association declaration form (Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009).
