Here in Newcastle we have an ambitious and innovative programme that will reshape Social Work for those Adults with a Learning Disability and/or Autism.

This is an exciting time to join one of two established teams working to deliver a truly innovative programme, achieving better outcomes for adults and their families in Newcastle.

We have a social work vacancy within our adult Learning Disability and Autism and Learning Disability Team.

The learning Disability and Autism team specifically work with some of our most complex cases, often within the Safeguarding or Court arena. Within the Insights Team we have designed a new Learning Disability and Autism care management function whose remit will be to dynamically review and respond to fluctuating needs by offering the right amount of support at each point in time in order to ensure maximum safe independence.

The Learning Disability and Autism Insights Team will benefit from the innovative use of data and information which should shape day-to-day practice, strengthen decision making and improve outcomes for those adults we work with. A data analyst will work directly with Social Workers to help them to apply analyses to improve services for the people and families they work with.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

If you would like more information please contact Ali Docherty 0191 2773772 or Christopher Brodie 0191 2788215 for an informal discussion.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
