This is an exciting and challenging time to join our Ofsted rated Good, Independent Fostering Agency-Together For Children Fostering Sunderland. Together for Children have been commissioned by Sunderland City Council to provide fostering services for children and young people in Sunderland. The agency, established in April 2017 provides an ideal opportunity to be innovative and do things differently to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families. We are looking for skilled and experienced Social Workers who have the passion and drive to ensure that children and young people in Sunderland who we care for, and provide foster placements for, achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services. The main tasks of the post will be the recruitment, training, assessment and supervision of foster carers. You will be working in an experienced, established and supportive team working with foster carers who provide a range of homes from emergency through to permanence for children from birth to 18.

Laptops and mobile phones are provided to every social worker to make mobile and flexible working easier. We have introduced a career progression scheme which is underpinned by a professional learning and development plan. We ensure that all social workers receive regular, high quality supervision. The role involves travelling and a clean driving licence and access to a car is required to be considered for the post. Applicants must have experience in the completion of good quality evidence based assessments, hold a recognised Social Work qualification to degree level and previous links to the Foster Care environment would be advantageous.
