Shadon House provides assessment and respite placements for up to 23 people, the majority of whom are living with a dementia.

You will need to carry out a range of duties including supporting service users with tasks that promote their independence, maximise their well-being and maintain their dignity.

You will be required to develop and maintain a range of records, including individual care plans and health and safety records.

Knowledge of the needs of vulnerable people and excellent communication skills are essential to this post. You must have experience of working with older people and have knowledge of best practices in service for older people. You must hold a Level 2 NVQ in Care or equivalent qualification. You must also have a commitment to service user consultation and working in partnership.

Experience of working as part of a team is desirable, as is the ability to work on your own initiative.

Experience of working with older people and those living with dementia is also desirable.
