Sunderland Care and Support is a Sunderland City Council owned trading company supporting vulnerable people and children across the City of Sunderland.

We are seeking to recruit Support Workers to support people who have a Learning Disability, Autism, Behaviour that Challenges and Mental Health needs in our CQC Registered Adult Short Break Services. We have 3 services based across the City at Doric View, Grindon Lane and Grindon Mews where people can come for planned short breaks whilst allowing parents and carers to have a break from their caring role.

As a Support Worker, working as part of a short-break team, you will be required to provide and promote excellent customer service and person-centred care and support, enabling individuals to have a fantastic short- break experience and demonstrate to families their loved ones receiving exceptional care.

We are looking to recruit people who are able to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends, evenings and Public Holidays.

Suitable applicants should be able to treat people with kindness, dignity, empathy and respect and possess good communication and interpersonal skills
Experience is not always necessary; your attitude and values are more important.
We are seeking to offer Permanent Contracts of 37 hours, 32 hours, 18.5 hours and 16 hours per week.

We will also offer, after the successful completion of the Company’s Six Month Probationary Period, opportunities to work additional hours, through our Permanent Variable Hour Contract scheme.
