Help shape the future workforce of the North East

We're looking for a talented and proactive Talent Partner to join our People and Culture team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting organisational growth by partnering with leaders across the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority to attract, recruit and retain the talent needed to deliver our ambitions for the region. You will combine strategic workforce planning with hands-on recruitment expertise, helping managers make informed workforce decisions and ensuring candidates receive an excellent experience throughout their journey.

The Role

As a Talent Partner, you will work closely with assigned directorates to understand workforce priorities, identify future workforce requirements and develop effective recruitment and attraction strategies. You will lead recruitment campaigns from approval through to appointment, advise managers on assessment and selection approaches, analyse workforce data and provide insight that supports evidence-based workforce planning. You will also help drive continuous improvement, champion inclusive recruitment practices and build strong relationships across the organisation.

About You

You will be an experienced recruitment professional with the confidence to build strong relationships and provide expert advice to managers and senior leaders. You will have experience managing recruitment campaigns, developing attraction strategies and interpreting workforce data to support decision-making. Organised, analytical and solutions-focused, you'll be equally comfortable thinking strategically whilst delivering high-quality operational outcomes. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about creating positive candidate experiences and supporting the organisation's workforce growth ambitions.

What it Isn't

This isn't a purely transactional recruitment role. You will be a trusted partner to directorates, helping shape workforce plans, influence recruitment decisions and provide insight that supports long-term organisational success. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to workforce planning, recruitment transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that make a real difference.

So, if you...
  • Enjoy building strong relationships and influencing positive recruitment outcomes.
  • Have experience leading recruitment campaigns and advising managers on best practice.
  • Can use workforce data and insight to support effective decision-making.
  • Are passionate about inclusive recruitment and delivering excellent candidate experiences.
  • Want to play a key role in helping the organisation attract and retain talented people.
...we'd love to hear from you.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We support flexible working and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

If you would like an informal discussion, or further information about this role please contact Marie Taylor, Strategic People Partner - Talent and L&D, marie.taylor@northeast-ca.gov.uk

Closing date for applications: Friday 30th October 2026 at 23:59
