Required from 1 September 2017
Permanent, full time as in accordance with the teachers’ pay and conditions document

We seek to appoint an inspired and inspiring graduate teacher from September 2017 to contribute to our outstanding Science department and high achieving school to teach from Y7 to Y13.

Applications are invited from those who are willing and able to make their own distinctive contribution to this ethos and see teaching as a vocation.

We have a culture of leadership and participation for staff as well as students. We are an outward facing school. For forward thinking staff we offer opportunities to develop leadership skills by taking on whole school initiatives. Many staff move on from us to senior roles in other schools.

We provide exceptional STEM provision in our enrichment programme working with strategic partners in industry, higher education and network of schools. We welcome applications from teachers who feel they can intensify this STEM offer to our students, many of whom move on to study Science and Medicine at Oxbridge and red brick universities.

Application forms and further information are available by following the link on our website: www.st-cuthbertshigh.newcastle.sch.uk for submission by 9am on Tuesday 2 May 2017. Interviews will be held as soon as possible after this date.

Candidates are not expected to be practising Catholics to apply but are expected to support the Catholic ethos of the school.

Please note we do not accept applications by CV and all applicants must complete and return the Safe Recruitment Form as part of the application process.

The Board of Governors and the Diocese are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
