Richard Coates is a wonderful place to work. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Teaching Assistant with good interpersonal skills to join our team who is committed to the ethos and vision of the school.
You will support pupils with special needs across the school inside and outside of lessons as well as providing general Teaching Assistant support across the school. Due to the current restructure across the Ponteland partnership and the subsequent staffing protocols in place, the post is a fixed term contract and will end on 31 August 2018.
The pupils’ behaviour is exemplary (Ofsted 2013) and the staff are a dedicated team of professionals who work closely and supportively with each other. The school is a large middle school of 476 pupils located in Ponteland on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne and has excellent public transport links, yet it enjoys the countryside benefits of being located within the picturesque county of rural Northumberland. However, we are undergoing transition into a primary school and this begins in September 2017 when we will admit children across the whole primary age.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post as well as undertaking any training that is required for the role.
