An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Team Manager for Team 2, based within the Assessment and Care Planning Teams in the Children's Safeguarding Service.

The Team Manager post will involve managing a team of children's social workers based in one of the eight children’s social work assessment and care planning teams in Middlesbrough. The team manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of a highly efficient social work team carrying out assessment and planning in the areas of Section 17, Section 47 and Section 20.

The applicant must have DipSW / Degree in SW or equivalent and have had experience in managing teams / individuals in the social work field. The successful candidate must have an ability to work within LSCB and departmental procedures and show a commitment to providing regular qualitative supervision to social workers. Experience of multi-agency working is essential and an in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation and resulting practice issues in respect of child protection is required.

The applicant will be expected to have strong leadership skills and the ability to work and lead a team of social workers.
