Middlesbrough Town Hall (MTH) is the largest music venue between Leeds and Gateshead and is key to the cultural and social infrastructure of the Tees Valley. We will be reopening to the public in May 2018 after a significant capital renovation project. Middlesbrough Town Hall is the beating heart of the Tees Valley’s civic and cultural life, bringing diverse communities together through music and the arts. A Town Hall for the 21st Century that is ambitious, generous, resilient and sustainable to communities that it serves. Middlesbrough Town Hall will be an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation from April 2018.
We are looking to appoint a Town Hall Head of Programmes, a newly created senior post to lead MTH in this exciting new phase of its history. The successful candidate will have a track record of programming at a senior level and leading with a strong vision. This post will shape an ambitious programme and be responsible for pushing the boundaries of what a Town Hall for the 21st century can be.
This role is an outward facing role, participating in networks of music programmers across all genres, attending music showcase events, and developing strong working relationships with key artists, agents and promoters.
If you are brave and do not settle for the status quo, come and join us.

This is a senior post within Middlesbrough Council cultural services, which is working towards a citizen-centred approach to culture.
