Further Information
The Townscape Heritage Project will complement an ambitious regeneration programme in the centre of the town. A key element of this is the Innovation and Skills Quarter (ISQ) which has seen Cleveland College of Art and Design invest £11million in a new campus building on a site adjacent to the scheme, along with complementary projects supported by £5.5million Local Growth Funding from Tees Valley Combined Authority for public realm works and the development of a centre for small businesses.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded the Council £1.2million for the project in Church Street Conservation Area. The scheme comprises three elements, building grants, public realm works and community engagement.

You will be qualified to a degree level in historic building conservation or a related discipline. A good working knowledge of HLF funded schemes and management of conservation areas and historic buildings is required for this role, as well as experience in heritage-led regeneration. The project will have a strong focus on community engagement therefore experience in delivering community based schemes or outreach work, including working with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders, would be an advantage.

For an informal discussion contact Sarah Scarr, Heritage and Countryside Manager on (01429) 523275.
