We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Transport Development Engineer to support the delivery of a range of exciting measures to support the housing growth strategy, while providing providing a high quality transport development function. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to a range of major developments which support the delivery of the Mayor’s Vision, Middlesbrough’s Investment Prospectus and the Tees Valley Strategic Economic Plan (SEP).

Such functions will include enabling major housing sites, attracting inward investment through highway improvements, external funding opportunities, business case development and, involvement with project management. The post holder will use professional expertise to provide technical engineering advice in line with statutory frameworks and guidance, for the design and delivery of the highways works associated with housing growth.

You will have a degree level qualification and/or equivalent professional qualification in an appropriate discipline, or a comparable level of knowledge gained through relevant experience. The ability to work independently and develop strong professional relationships will be a distinct advantage, as will the flexibility to take ownership of a task, think laterally and see it through to completion.
