Further Information

Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.
If you are looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, there's an opportunity for a Visiting Officer to join Hartlepool Borough Council's Adult Social Care Service.

The role is incredibly varied, and no two days are often the same. Duties include completing financial assessments for non-residential and residential services, providing benefit advice to service users and supporting them with benefit applications. You will also help manage the finances of individuals who do not have the capacity to do so themselves through appointeeship / deputyship appointment. There will also be scope to help with arranging things like public health funerals, protection of properties and boarding of pets when there are no other persons available to carry out the role.

The post is part of a Visiting Officer Development Scheme, which will provide a good opportunity for career progression within an experienced, supportive and successful specialist team within Adult Social Care. Full training will be provided. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is an ability to take responsibility for managing your own workload. You will also need to have good IT skills, including working with applications such as Word and Excel.

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check plus barring list Adults check. A full UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes is also required.
