The Adults & Communities Directorate, consists of four strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, Public Health and Environment. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life, and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

We are seeking an experienced Visitor Destination specialist to support the Visitor Destination and Engagement Manager in the delivery of the Council’s Visitor Destination Management Plan, digital visitor strategy and policies. The role will be focused on the development and growth of tourism in the area creating a dynamic all year-round visitor destination through product development and the creation of promotional campaigns aimed at increasing the number of visitors and their economic value.

We are looking for someone that has experience in successful marketing and promotion of a tourism service or similar, experience of managing staff and operating at a strategic level in a visitor-related environment and monitoring cost centre budgets. The successful candidate will have experience working with a range of national and local partners, building strategic relationships to generate ideas and support growth.
