Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to assist in developing the council’s waste services?
We’re looking for a Waste Development Officer to support the development and digitalisation of our waste and recycling services.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting our Waste Services teams, combining service development, customer support, and data analysis, to help deliver efficient, high-quality services.
You’ll work closely with operational teams, commercial waste, customer services, finance, and IT to improve processes, enhance performance reporting, support customers and help deliver new services.
What you’ll do:
- Support the commercial waste team in providing front-line support to customers, including handling enquiries, complaints, and contract administration
- Manage and develop waste management systems, ensuring data accuracy and using performance reporting to drive service developments
- Process invoices and support budget monitoring
- Support operational service delivery, including route optimisation and issue resolution
- Lead the administration and annual rollout of the chargeable garden waste service
- Support the development and implementation of new waste services in line with legislative changes
What we’re looking for:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, with experience of working with data and digital systems
- Ability to analyse performance data and identify opportunities for developments
- Excellent communication skills to support customers and work collaboratively across teams
