An exciting vacancy has arisen for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and skilled Senior Auditor within our modern shared Internal Audit and Risk Management team. Our service delivers a wide range of assurance services jointly to Northumberland County Council and North Tyneside Council.

CCAB or IIA qualified / part qualified, you will be an enthusiastic and capable self starter. You will have a sound audit background, preferably in a local government environment, and perform complex audit work to a high standard. A good understanding of current audit best practice is essential. You will have experience at a supervisory level and you should relish a varied workload and the responsibility that this post will bring. As a short fixed term contract, relevant knowledge and experience will include safeguarding and grant funding relating to children in particular.

You will be computer literate, and should have a good understanding of current issues facing local government. An excellent communicator with excellent written business English, you will be self motivated, demonstrate initiative, tact and diplomacy and be able to work as part of a team.
