The Service
The post is based within the Housing and Public Protection Service. The Public Protection function is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of regulatory and enforcement activities, which are delivered across two business units, Business Compliance and Public Safety and Public Health Protection Unit.

The Role
1. Undertake pest control treatments in residential and commercial premises, give advice to customers and identify pests upon request.
2. Investigate complaints concerning rodents and possible accumulations of materials which may either be a statutory nuisance or be actionable under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act and to take appropriate action. Collect, document and retain evidence as necessary. Draft letters and notices as required. Appear in court if necessary.

Key responsibilities of the post include.
You will be responsible for carrying out your day-to-day pest treatments within your working area whilst working alongside a small team across the whole of Northumberland.
You will have a sound knowledge of current laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and developments in pest control.
You will work with internal departments, elected members and external partners to improve the health and wellbeing of all residents in Northumberland.

RSH or BPCA level 2 in pest management
