We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Welfare Assistance Officer to work within our successful Welfare Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity and we would love to hear from you if you have the ability to think innovatively and embrace new ways of working. The role is both stimulating and rewarding.

As part of Stockton Revenues & Benefits we provide discretionary payments to customers who require further financial assistance (in addition to any welfare benefits) with housing costs, as well as crisis support for people in immediate need, and settlement support to help people remain or move back into the community.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible to the Welfare, Policy and Research Team Leader. to deliver efficient customer focussed outcomes , determining applications in respect of discretionary housing payments, discretionary council tax hardship discount and welfare assistance and personal budgeting support.

Recent relevant work experience of working in a customer focussed environment is desirable.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work 40% of their working time away from the office
