Newcastle City Council’s award-winning Communications and Engagement team is seeking a Communications Assistant.

The city is going through a period of significant change as the council, organisations and communities come together to find solutions to the major challenges we face and showcase our successes.

We want to ensure that our website and social media channels are engaging and allow our local residents to interact with us. We’re looking for people who can help us do that creatively.

You will be an enthusiastic communication professional able to demonstrate a broad range of communication skills and a qualification in a related discipline.

The role will have a key focus on assisting on major projects regarding transport and air quality as well as showcasing the our work in communities across Newcastle.

The successful candidate will also be asked to work flexibly across a busy team managing the council’s external profile and reputation.
